GlobaLexicon launched its internship programme in its London office over ten years ago and has now rolled it out to its other offices, creating specialist intern positions across the following teams: Project Management, Linguistics, Quality Assurance & Vendor Management. In the last three years alone, the translations company has taken on over 50 interns. Now with over a third of its staff having initially joined GlobaLexicon as interns, the programme is an integral part of the company and it continues to attract applicants from all over the world.

Stella Kirst, who is halfway through her internship as a German linguist, comments: “I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the great team at GlobaLexicon. Thanks to the focus on quality, thorough training and support of the team, I am doing things I had not previously imagined, taking on responsibilities and challenging myself to grow.”

Whether the interns come to GlobaLexicon as part of their degree or they join after graduating, the team at GlobaLexicon is highly experienced in offering training and support to interns from a variety of backgrounds.

Nicolas Rozière, who joined the company as an intern in June 2015, is due to start his new position as a Project Coordinator after playing a key role in the Quality Assurance team. Reflecting on his own experiences of the internship programme, Nicolas comments: “The internship gave me great insight into the world of market research translation and it really helped me to realise what I wanted from my career. With the help of the team and the guidance of my mentor, I had the confidence I needed early on to manage my own projects and pursue my goals within the company.”

As GlobaLexicon continues to expand globally, taking on additional international clients and hiring more staff in its global offices, the internship will continue to play a key role.
